About the Competition
The National Trial Competition (NTC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious mock trial competitions in the United States. NTC is co-sponsored by the American College of Trial Lawyers and the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA). Every ABA-accredited law school in the country is invited to compete in this annual competition. The top two teams from each of the 14 regional tournaments advance to the championship rounds in Texas.
The TYLA problem alternates between criminal and civil law. The TYLA mock trial experience mirrors a real-life trial in that witnesses are provided by the regional host. Shortly before each round, TYLA competitors meet with their witnesses for the first time.
For more information on the TYLA team, see the competition website.
